Bogie Alvarado

Alvarado was twice recognized for demonstrating creativity through outstanding artistic expression in the 1998 & 2006 Philippines Art Awards organized annually by the Philip Morris Group of Companies. He was awarded a certificate of merit for being a finalist in the 2nd Philippine Drawing Society, Inc. 2006 Drawing Competition. He was, as well, a participant in NCCA projects like the traveling exhibit Sungduan and VIVA Excon 6 Tagay Bisaya.

Bogie is a self-taught artist who hails from Fabrika, Sagay, Negros Occidental, started drawing at 5 years old and continues to dabble in painting at 11. He is an old man in the visual world at 28 and has participated in numerous group visual arts exhibition in Manila, Cebu, Iloilo and Negros, among them are Internal Hunger, Lousy Painter & Negrense Artists in Nakpil in Manila, Inner Pain in Silay, Kaliwat Alvarado in UP Visayas, Esprikitik, Agubay, Bahala Ka Pintor Kulapol & Trip Lang in Bacolod, and Pagsukat & Ugyon in Fabrika.
